Artist's description

This piece is small in size, however much of the bulk is made of an embedded geode quartz. Most of the surface is covered in crystals making a striking composition that is enhanced by the addition of the minty aqua green. The finish is a glossy iridescence.

My process & experience

This was my first attempt at embedding a geode into a canvas. I wanted to start with a smaller size canvas for my first attempt. Normally I do reacher, but this time I didn't. I just went with the idea I had and it worked out. I added additional clear quartz crystals to make a pleasing composition and built the smaller crushed crystal pieces around the embedded geode to make it look as if it was naturally coming out of the canvas. Just like all my pieces this one took additional steps with drying time between.
